New Fact Sheet on Groundwater Characterization Has Been Published by The Department of Energy Environmental Management Nevada Program

The Department of Energy Environmental Management (EM) Nevada Program has published an updated overview fact sheet on groundwater characterization efforts at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS).

The fact sheet provides an updated status for each of the areas on the NNSS where groundwater characterization activities are focused. These areas (Frenchman Flat, Yucca Flat, Rainier Mesa, Shoshone Mountain, and Western and Central Pahute Mesas) are the locations of historic underground nuclear testing which resulted in some contamination of the groundwater.
